Dr. Stewart Adams, MD, FRCPC, FAADÂ has been practicing Medical Dermatology in Calgary since 1994.Graduating, with distinction, from the University of Saskatchewan, Dr. Adams completed his internship at the Regina General Hospital. Upon moving to Edmonton, he began a 2 year rotation of Internal Medicine at the University of Alberta where he discovered his passion for Dermatology.
He is the past Sectional Head of Dermatology and past acting Divisional Head at the University of Calgary. Over the past 17 years he has taught numerous medical students, family medicine residents, dermatology residents and internal medicine residents. He is currently on the residency committee for dermatology resident training and is a Clinical Assistant Professor at the University of Calgary.
He has given numerous lectures to family physicians and other specialists in both medical and cosmetic dermatology.
Dr. Adams remains a member in good standing with the following organizations: Canadian Medical Association, Canadian Dermatology Association, American Academy of Dermatology and the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery.
He has been involved in lasers and other innovative technologies since 1996 and continues to implement innovative technologies that benefit patient care. His interests included vascular lesions, acne scarring and treatment of traumatic and burn scars.
He believes in a patient centric approach and assembled a group of dermatology specialists with a similar philosophy.
On the medical side of the practice clinics in psoriasis and acne have been started to channel patients into these areas. This also helps to decrease waiting times.
Dr. Adams believes he and his colleague physicians are part of a team and thus we have trained nurses on both cosmetic and medical side to deliver consistently high standards of treatment.
